Cedar Point Rocks!

We're spending the long holiday weekend with my sister & her family in Ohio. Yesterday we went to Cedar Point, the first time the kids have gone to an amusement park and I think CP was the perfect choice.

Unlike other parks where the kids' section is off to one side, CP scatters a couple of different kids' areas throughout the park so you can mingle kids rides with adult rides. They also have a parent swap program where one set of parents stays with the kids at the exit and then the other set of patents can enter from the exit and get right on. Fortunately we didn't have to make use of that because every line was less than 15 minutes! For being the 4th of July weekend the place was deserted (which made our trip so much more enjoyable).

The only downside to the trip was the fact that it was 90 degrees with who knows how much humidity. Around 3 p.m. we were dragging buns! I don't know that I've sweat that much in years (and that includes when we're in the tropics). I drank more water than a fish!

At night we went on an old wooden style coaster called The Galaxy that was so amazingly fun. Alan and I had the front seat and the view from the top over Lake Erie with the lightening in the horizon in one section and fireworks off to the other section was so pretty - just the perfect 4th of July image in my mind.

We had some scary car trouble on the way home and then got caught in a torrential downpour-slash-lightening storm before making it home just after midnight. All in all a successful holiday adventure; one we're looking forward to repeating next year when Nora's just a bit taller for the funner rides and Josh is out of his terrible twos.
