We got up early (for us) today, threw on some grubby clothes, went to breakfast at Saul's - one of our fave's in Berkeley - and then drove over to Tilden Park for a leisurely walk around Jewel Lake. We tried to do this a hike years before in this park and ended up on the wrong trail. What was supposed to be a quick jaunt through the forest turned into a grueling hike into the next county. Once we got back into cell phone range we had to call Alan's dad to come rescue us and drive us back to the car. Things went much smoother today. After our walk around the lake we visited The Little Farm. I wish I had known about this place because if you bring lettuce or celery the animals LOVE you.
