Yesterday was my 37th birthday. It's the first time since my 30th birthday that we didn't have travel plans that coincided with the event. It's also the birthday that marks the fact that I've spent more birthdays WITH Alan than without.

Being in town this year, we decided to keep it fairly low key with a few friends out at Tomales Bay Oyster Company, about an hour and a half from Oakland.

We got there early because TBOC has instituted a new reservation procedure and we wanted to make sure that we were able to get a table for our group. Around 12:30 p.m. we were joined by Dallas, Christina, and Eva, and then a few minutes later Audrey and Nathan. Several hours later we had consumed 3 bottles of champagne, 3.5 bottles of wine, some beer, 24 clams, and 136 oysters. It was a seafood fest, for sure, and a wonderful way to spend the day. I only had to tell one lady to stick to her own table area, only one employee had to tell us we weren't allowed to play cornhole where we were playing, and only one employee hit on Christina and me.  I'm going to call it a success!

Thanks pals for coming out!
