SOURDOUGH FRENCH TOAST

I posted a picture this morning on Instagram of the baked french toast we made for breakfast and several people wrote to me asking for the recipe so here it is.

1/2 loaf of Acme or Semifreddi sourdough (if you don't have Acme or Semi in your area, go with the best possible loaf you can afford - crunchy outside and fluffy inside)
4 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup of cream, mixed into eggs
1 tablespoon of high quality vanilla, added to the egg mixture

Butter/grease a baking dish
Set cubed sourdough (crust on) in the dish
Poor egg mixture over each piece until gone
Cover & put in the refrigerator overnight
Bake for 22 minutes at 350
Broil for 2 minutes
Serve

You can also use challah which will produce a bread pudding(esque) texture of toast. Alan likes it a bit crunchy so we went with sourdough this time. This really is the best recipe I've come across, and SO EASY.
