DINNER FOR THE OPENING CEREMONY

I know a lot of people are having viewing parties for to watch the opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympics, complete with a whole smorgasbord of culinary delights representing the good 'ole US of A (wait, can American food classify as a culinary delight? Maybe BBQ.)

We're anti-social so it's just a party of three - Alan, Dakota, and me. I guess we could have gone the hamburger or BBQ ribs and coleslaw route but when it came time to think up a meal I wanted for a Friday night in front of the television, those things never even crossed my mind.

Nope.

I'm making braised pork belly, sautéed red cabbage, and baked apples. In my defense, I am German.
