IT'S ALL QUITE DEPRESSING, REALLY

As y'all know, I've been sick since we went to Portland. First it was those horrible cauliflower fever blisters that took up my entire mouth. Then they healed and two more came back. Now, since this weekend, I've been dealing with sores INSIDE MY MOUTH. Do you know how much it hurts to talk when your tongue is damaged? A lot, that's how much. Who gets sick this much?! Oh right, me. I've always been sickly. At least now I have a doctor's note to go with it.

Oh, and I think my Graves Disease is back. An impaired immune system and extreme tiredness are two major signs. With me, I also break out in random rashes. Want to guess who's sick, extremely tired, and covered in strange bumps on her arms? That'd be me. My body hurts so bad for no reason at all. I'd love to stay in bed all day. I need to find a new endocrinologist to get back on a treatment plan - when I went into remission they took me off the pills - because my old endo left the practice and everyone else there is incompetent.

Oh, and I've got "woman troubles" to contend with as well. Since this is the great wide internet and no one wants to hear about that stuff - and I don't want to write about it - I'll spare you the details. Suffice it to say though, sometimes I wish I was a boy.

AND ... and ... my GERD is a constant presence. No matter what I eat, no matter when I eat, I have major chest pains. I can always tell when I'm about to have an esophageal spasm because my arms, face, and head get all tingly before my chest seizes up. Three weeks ago I called my gastro's office to get an appointment.  The soonest they could see me was May 30. So yeah, I get to suffer for several weeks before they can fit me in. When I explained the situation they told me there was nothing they could do about it. I think it should be mandatory that the people that schedule appointments at doctor's offices should have a known medical issue that is accompanied by pain and discomfort, so that when you call to make an appointment they can understand where you're coming from and will therefore be less of an asshole.

I'm sorry that you're not feeling well. :(

My magic around these parts is breastmilk, but others love coconut oil for everything and it apparently does have some pretty good antibacterial properties.  People take a spoonful a day, plus you can rub it on scrapes, etc.

And, I've had the inside mouth sores recently too, on the roof of my mouth, they sucked!  Luckily, they finally went away (within two weeks, I thought I was going to have to call the dr and tell him I was sure I had oral cancer).  We just finished GERD and now we're in stomach and GI issues, and lordy, I go through them and am all "ooooh, I think I have that!", or "so and so has that!".

  2. I too had been suffering from some pretty severe "canker sores" (for lack of better term) in my mouth, both on and under my tongue. After going over my diet and any new or different things we narrowed it down to a recently added birth control pill. Once I stopped that, the next month I barely had any sores. I actually visited my dentist and they lasered them, which surprisingly worked quite well. That and some custom lidocaine goo. I hope you find balance in your health.
