So it's official. We're going to Maui for our 10th wedding anniversary.
I looked at probably every condo in Kapalua and nearly booked one, but after some back & forth and some additional number crunching and crazy ideas we ended up going with a five-night trip, direct from Oakland on Alaska Airlines, with a suite at the Fairmont Kea Lani. I love Fairmont properties.
Yup, we pulled the trigger.
I could justify the cost of the room by reducing our stay by two nights and by booking a package that cut a couple of hundred dollars off the total cost if we had booked separately.
So, we'll be going back to the place it all started.
This is going to be a very novel experience for us. Since our first vacation to Hawaii when we got married, the only time we've gone on a beach vacation and not stayed in a condo where we could cook was when we went to the Dominican Republic and Jamaica - both All Inclusive trips. I'm sure we'll be fine. We'll be more than fine. We'll be young and in love.
