CASTLE CAUDILL?

I forget how the discussion first happened, but a couple of weeks ago I looked at real estate in the Cleveland area to see what you could get for the same amount of money as you would spend in the Bay Area. We sold our 2+ br / 1 bath, 1600 square foot house for $750,000. Admittedly it was a damn fine house, but yeah. That's a lot of money for such a small space. Using that dollar amount as the parameter for the Ohio search, I was shocked at what can be had for well less than what we would need to spend here in Oakland to get a nice house.

And that's when the jokes started. The Baron's House. Baron von Caudill. Lady Caudill. Castle Caudill. You see, we could pretty much live in a manor house in Cleveland for less than what our buyers paid for our small bungalow. I'm talking honest to goodness steel baron houses. It's staggering. We keep joking that maybe we'll buy one and invite people to come stay in a wing, or that we'll have these grand Christmas parties with a 20 foot tree and carolers. Can you imagine the blog fodder?
