We made some money but not enough to justify the planning and prep work and the ungodly hour we woke up at to get everything set up, or having to endure the heat or a random neighbor we'd never met before that wouldn't leave our house and hung out on our couch, ate their lunch, and tried to negotiate with potential buyers on our behalf. Also a Chinese lady threw a hat at me, while screaming "JUNK!" when I wouldn't give it to her for a dime.
Next time, I'm just donating everything to Goodwill on December 30 and being done with it.
People are crazy, yo!
ReplyDeleteDid you kick 'em off your couch? "You eat on it, you buy it!"
No, we let her stay. Apparently she's lived in the 'hood for a long time. She wasn't a bad person, just lonely, I think. She was also somewhat bossy. I wanted to sick my 6 year old niece on her.
ReplyDeleteLOL about sicking your six year old niece on her. :)
ReplyDeleteNora would have totally schooled her.
ReplyDeleteWow. I'm totally torn between what's worse -- the hat story or the neighbor eating and hangin' on your couch. Sounds like you needed a big drink at the end of the day! :-)
ReplyDeleteI left Alan to deal with the lady that wouldn't leave when I felt my tolerance slipping. He's much more PC than I am.
ReplyDeleteThe crazy Chinese lady was a riot. I knew we were in for a doozy when she was throwing everything out of their bins and didn't put any of it back.
