One of the things we love about where we live is the abundant access we have to some of the most delicious food found anywhere on the planet. Regardless of the time of year, the Bay Area always has amazing, fresh local food - sometimes available right at the source. One of my favorite things to do these past few years is to travel to Tomales Bay for the day to shuck some oysters right on the water. We usually go in the spring and summer, but I'd heard that Tomales Bay Oyster Company was having a bumper crop of oysters this month, so a few weeks ago I asked some friends if they wanted to go up with us. We had no idea what the weather would be like, but as you'll see, it couldn't have been more beautiful. Well, it could have been a bit cooler for my liking, but otherwise it was an amazingly beautiful day filled with great food, equally good drink, and lovely company.
