Top 10 Underappreciated Cities

Here's a link to the article that appeared that I pitched the reporter for. As you can see, Cleveland made the list! (Unfortunately not many of my recommendations did.) It turns out the reporter had been in talks with the tourist board for the city when he received my note, so Cleveland was already going to be on the list. Three cheers for Cleveland! The other great city that made the list was Pittsburgh. Having lived there for 8 years, I think it's a city that for me at least is better appreciated in hindsight. I had some terrific times there - after all, that's where I met Alan - but upon graduating in 2000 in our last great recession couldn't find a job except working at the mall and that really colored my experience of the city. When you've got yinzers that probably barely made it out of high school yelling at you, you tend to really hate where you are. If I had managed to find a real job after graduating from college, we might have even stayed there for awhile longer because it actually is a really great city to live in.

Awesome! So exciting that Cleveland made the list, and at least your pitch got a response. :)
